It takes wisdom to have a good family, and it takes understanding to make it strong." - Proverbs 24:3

Christmas Eve

This year for Christmas eve we headed down town for horse drawn carriage rides. This was not just a first for the girls but for Craig and I, and while it was fun it was pretty cold out and we were glad it was a quick ride :)

Our tree all decorated and ready for Christmas morning...I had left my camera in the car and when I brought it inside the lens fogged up, I kinda like how it blurred the lights

Preschool Christmas Program

Tonight was the girls first ever Christmas program that they were in!! They've been practicing their songs since Halloween and did such a great job, I'm so proud of them! The program started with the Friendly Frogs (Evvy's class) singing The Little Drummer Boy, Away in a manger, and The Rudolph Pokie . Next was the Mighty Monkeys (Aubrey's class) singing The 12 days of Christmas, Joy to the World, and Santa Clause is Coming to Town, and after that there were two more classes (older day care age that I'd never heard of) The girls did such a great job and we were so proud of them! It's so crazy that the girls are old enough to do things like this, they're growing up so fast!

I called to Aubrey hoping she would look at the camera and she gave me a big smile and a wave. Even the mom next to me thought she was adorable!

Aubrey did her own thing on stage, which also included two handed nose picking, I left those ones off the blog :)

Little Mommy Aubrey

Last night I asked Aubrey to put her clothes in the laundy hamper after she put on her jammas. A little while later she says: "Can I ask you a favor? Can you put your shoes in your bedroom" Haha! Craig and I got a good laugh out of it. Apparently if she has to pick up after herself, she's going to make sure everyone else does too!

Santa '11

One of the things I wanted to do while we were in Colorado Springs was take the girls to see the Santa there since ours isn't very Christmasy (Blue and red just doesn't say Christmas to me) While I normally am not a big fan of any Santa pics, this year's photo I LOVE!! I think it captures the girls personalities spot on!

Sick Girls :'(

So far we have been extremely blessed when it comes to health and the girls haven't had the normal sicknesses most kids get (RSV at 4 and 2 is pretty old!) and even since starting school last month haven't even had a cold. But on the second day of our thanksgiving visit with my Aunt and Nanny both the girls came down with nasty coughs and by the end of day 2 Aubrey had a lot of discharge coming from one eye! So Saturday (day 2 of being sick) we took her straight over to the after hours clinic our pediatricians offer, Docs on Call, when we got back into town and it turns out she has both Pink Eye AND Strep Throat!! From what I've read you can get pink eye from the strep virus if you touch your eye after coughing into you hand. Then Tuesday night Evelyn started complaining about her ear hurting which turned into screaming and crying...thankfully she was already on antibiotics and by morning she was fine! Fast forward to today (day 6 of being sick) Aubrey's eyes look great and both the girls seem to be back to their energetic selfs tho they both still have coughs.
Thankfully we caught the Strep in time because from what I've read, untreated it can turn into scarlette fever!
