It takes wisdom to have a good family, and it takes understanding to make it strong." - Proverbs 24:3

Disneyland Trip 1

One of the perks of Craig's company are the annual Disneyland trips, they even offer discounted tickets for extended family! Craig's parent's and little brother, and Melissa and my Cousin Chelsea all came with us and it was a blast! Evelyn was only a few months when we went last time and is now at an age where she can actually enjoy it. Our first stop was to see the princesses and neither of the girls were thrilled, in fact Aubrey started to cry! Other than that it we had a great day, first hitting up Disneyland and then Ca Adventure. Craig's parents ended up taking Aubrey and Evvy home so we could get in some big rides!

Arizona

Over the weekend the girls and I made a trip to Arizona for a small family reunion on my mom's side. Craig had to work so Amanda and my mom were going to carpool with me, but at the last minute Melissa decided to come along, so they ended up following behind us. We hit some heavy traffic but got there safely Friday night. It was so nice to see everyone. This reunion was at my aunt and uncles place in Munds Park, which I always love visiting! It also worked out great since most of the houses there are vacation homes and one of their neighbors were gracious enough to let us stay at their place. The weekend was just spent relaxing and hanging out, but it was great! We were there until Monday morning and then we headed home and brought my cousin Chelsea home with us. She's here until Sunday when my Aunt Laura and Uncle Brian pick her up on their way to San Francisco.

SB Solstice Parade

We spent today in Santa Barbara at the Summer Solstice Parade. My sisters, Amanda and Melissa, went with us and we met up there with two of Craig's co-workers. Aubrey was spending the day with Laurie so it was just Evvy with us and she definitely got a little spoiled today because of it!

Colorado

Our trip to Colorado started off a little stressful but we had so much fun once we got there. About 3 hours into our 20+ hr drive, Aubrey started running a fever, that eventually got to 103! We stuck to our plan of Leaving at 6pm on the 6th. Craig drove all through the night and I finished up the drive the next day. We made great time all the way through Utah but hit some ice going through Vail that slowed us down a bit. We had a safe, uneventful drive and made to CO springs without any problems by 5pm on Thursday. It was great to get to see Dad's Mother's family. My Grandmother was at our wedding in '07 but I hadn't seen my Aunt Kimber and her family since the previous year when my Grandmother had a heart attack, so it was great to get to visit with everyone under better circumstances.

Our visit was pretty laid back, it was just what Craig needed before his new job since most of our vacations are spend always running around. We mostly hung out at my Aunt's house, which worked out so well since it's already baby proof since she babysits her ex husband's little girl, Avery. We did visit a mining museum on Friday and got to see some old machinery in action. Craig saw a mining museum while driving through the Rockies but we didn't stop since we were trying to get to Colorado springs before dark, so Craig was all for it when my grandmother suggested we visit their mining museum.

On Sunday we went to church, I love my Aunt's church! The worship was awesome and the pastor was great. Craig and I have been thinking of looking for another church once we're back in Ventura since the one I grew up at has changed so much. I think we'll definitely be looking for a Calvary Chapel!

We left on Monday, Craig wanted to head out EARLY, like around 3am but we overslept and then got talking and we didn't end up leaving till 10! The drive through the Rockies was a lot easier on the way back since all the ice was gone, so we made a lot better time. We stopped in Grand Junction and saw one of Craig's old co-workers, Josh, and his wife Brita. They have two little girls the about same age as ours, so the plan was to let the girls play and get worn out before driving through Utah. After all of 10 minutes there I honestly expected for their oldest, Nissa, to hate Aubrey by the time we left but after a few timeouts for both they started sharing and had a blast. We ended up staying a lot later than we planned on and both Aubrey and Nissa were sad to say goodbye to each other. Stopping in GJ did leave me disappointed since we would have been living there too if Craig's transfer had gone through, but I know God has other plans for us.

Evelyn finally figured this toy out right on our last day! She was so mad that she didn't know how to use it.

Christmas Eve

For Christmas eve we headed down to Ventura to meet my Mom and sisters for the Christmas eve service at church. Afterwards we went out to dinner and had a great time spending time together and playing with the girls. I so cannot wait to be back in Ventura and back at the Church I grew up in. I forgot to take pictures while we where down there :(

4th of July Fun!

We spent the 4th in Arizona with my Mom and her family. The last time we saw most of them was at our wedding, so it's been a while! Everyone wanted to see Evelyn and we were able to see my Aunt and Uncle who live in Saudi Arabia. I was busy hanging out and catching up with everybody so I didn't get a lot of pictures but is a family shot, though it's missing a LOT of people!
