Jessie's Baby Shower

Over the weekend Laurie and I headed up north to throw a baby shower for Craig's cousin Jessica and her Husband Sal. They already have a adorable little girl, Madelyn, who is a month older than Aubrey, and are now expecting a little boy who they'll name, either Nicolas Matteo or Matteo Nicolas. Here are some pics of the shower

A little behind

I've been really busy lately and as a result have entries from Christmas that I've written but haven't had the time to upload the photos (they take soo long) so they are just sitting there waiting to be posted. Hopefully I'll get to them soon, but I can't make any promises since we're in the middle of moving (yep we finally found a place, there's a post about that too!) If you bear with me for a little bit longer I will get around to it.

ETA: A few of them are up :D

A week without my Husband

I'm so glad it's just a week because I couldn't handle being away from him any longer than that! I'm only 4 days into it and it already seems like it's been a week since I dropped him off at LAX. He's in Houston for Orientation/Training for his new job, which so far we both love! He has the same insurance benefits that he had with Oxy, but his schedule is soo much better- He works 6am-6pm, Wednesday to Wednesday day, and has every other week off!! I am looking forward to all the family time we'll have and am so thankful to the Lord for blessing him with this job! He comes home Saturday night and then we'll be moving on Monday. I can't wait to have my Husband back and be in our new place! Prayers for a safe flight home for Craig would be great! :)

Happy Birthday Evelyn!!

I can not believe she's one!!! Where has this last year gone? Because today is Craig's last day at Oxy, Evelyn had to have her appointment, and shots, today :'( But she did great!

Once we got home we celebrated with a homemade cake and a balloon, which she LOVED! I absolutely love seeing her face light up!!!

A New Home!

Craig and I finally found a place! It's in a good area of Ventura and right next to the freeway, which is great for Craig's commute. It's a Condo with a 2 car garage (=plenty of space for Craig's weight lifting equipment), a master loft, a down stairs bedroom for the girls, 2 bathrooms, an enclosed patio and huge closets. The complex also has a pool, which Aubrey is so excited about and keeps asking if she can go play in the "beach"! I'm not too thrilled with the fact that the girls won't be on the same floor as us and will have a sliding glass door that leads to the patio, but since our room is a loft we should be able to hear them and the patio is enclosed and Craig is already planning all the safety devices he's going to put on the door, so no one will be able to get in or out! We signed the lease today and will be moving in on Monday. I can't wait! I'll post some pics once we're moved in.

Colorado

Our trip to Colorado started off a little stressful but we had so much fun once we got there. About 3 hours into our 20+ hr drive, Aubrey started running a fever, that eventually got to 103! We stuck to our plan of Leaving at 6pm on the 6th. Craig drove all through the night and I finished up the drive the next day. We made great time all the way through Utah but hit some ice going through Vail that slowed us down a bit. We had a safe, uneventful drive and made to CO springs without any problems by 5pm on Thursday. It was great to get to see Dad's Mother's family. My Grandmother was at our wedding in '07 but I hadn't seen my Aunt Kimber and her family since the previous year when my Grandmother had a heart attack, so it was great to get to visit with everyone under better circumstances.

Our visit was pretty laid back, it was just what Craig needed before his new job since most of our vacations are spend always running around. We mostly hung out at my Aunt's house, which worked out so well since it's already baby proof since she babysits her ex husband's little girl, Avery. We did visit a mining museum on Friday and got to see some old machinery in action. Craig saw a mining museum while driving through the Rockies but we didn't stop since we were trying to get to Colorado springs before dark, so Craig was all for it when my grandmother suggested we visit their mining museum.

On Sunday we went to church, I love my Aunt's church! The worship was awesome and the pastor was great. Craig and I have been thinking of looking for another church once we're back in Ventura since the one I grew up at has changed so much. I think we'll definitely be looking for a Calvary Chapel!

We left on Monday, Craig wanted to head out EARLY, like around 3am but we overslept and then got talking and we didn't end up leaving till 10! The drive through the Rockies was a lot easier on the way back since all the ice was gone, so we made a lot better time. We stopped in Grand Junction and saw one of Craig's old co-workers, Josh, and his wife Brita. They have two little girls the about same age as ours, so the plan was to let the girls play and get worn out before driving through Utah. After all of 10 minutes there I honestly expected for their oldest, Nissa, to hate Aubrey by the time we left but after a few timeouts for both they started sharing and had a blast. We ended up staying a lot later than we planned on and both Aubrey and Nissa were sad to say goodbye to each other. Stopping in GJ did leave me disappointed since we would have been living there too if Craig's transfer had gone through, but I know God has other plans for us.

Avery- isn't she a beauty!

Evelyn finally figured this toy out right on our last day! She was so mad that she didn't know how to use it.

A day at the Park

Craig is still on vacation so we headed over to the park with Craig's Mom. The girls had so much fun and I got some great photos. Sorry for the poor quality, The settings were off on my camera and I'm not in the mood to re-edit them right now :) If you click on them they open up bigger and look a little better.
